"It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the NIST Business School (NBS). Often students ask me: why establish one more Institute when so many are already existing. My answer to that this school (NBS) has its origins in our desire since a decade to build a World Class Business Institute where industry requirements and practices are seamlessly integrated into the academic curriculum. Whereas standard curriculum as offered by many other institutes need to be in tune with the fast changing business environment, it is our plan to keep the syllabus of the NIST Business School in sync with the times. The curriculum of this school is unique since it has been designed by the faculty and industry experts of top business schools of India including IIM, Ahmedabad and XIM, Bhubaneswar. The promoters of this Institute with backgrounds from top schools of India and USA have dedicated their careers to the pursuit of higher technical education and research and consultancy. The National Institute of Science & Technology (NIST) which was established in 1996 stands as a testimony to exceptional quality and performance standards expected of the NIST Business School. About NIST Business School
In a very short span, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program of NIST has succeeded in making an indelible mark on the management education community of India. With the success of management program at NIST and to keep in stride with the rapid changing environment of Indian industry, the founder members of the S M Charitable Educational Trust started the PGDM program to impact management education in a bigger scale.
Management education at NIST Business School in not merely about creating a group of managers making decisions about an organization. We view modern business and management practices as a stream, which is conducted in an environment of increasing global competition subjected to rapid changes. An integration of information technology achieved by its presence in NIST group enables the students to acquire well developed understanding of management practices, knowledge and skills necessary to grapple with the complexities of the modern business propositions.
The pedagogy provides the students a through understanding of the core business issues, whilst at the same time providing sufficient latitude to allow them to specialize in particular areas relevant to current business scenario. The pedagogy involves report writing, critical analysis, independent research, working with real life case studies, presentation. These will help the students to take a full, active and responsible role within the business.
NIST Business School is approved by All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Govt. of India to impart 2 years full time program leading to Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).
